Flight 93

So last night was the premiere of "Flight 93" on A&E, did anyone else watch it? Oh wow, it was a really great movie. However, if you have no desire to cry, or remember why we went into Afghanistan, or see true heroes then you probably shouldn't see it. It really was an amazing film, I couldn't believe how real it seemed. Yes I know, it was the true story of what happened that day. I just couldn't believe how well it was made, it didn't seem like the people were acting. Anyways, I just wanted to say everyone should watch that movie!

Its an interesting point of view....

So I found this on myspace, and after going to my highschool it rings pretty true, no I didn't think this one up on my own.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.

You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey" and even "The Man" and you think it's OK.

But when I call you, "nigger", "Kike", "Towelhead", "Sand-nigger", "Camel Jockey", "Beaner" or "Chink" you call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live

You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.

If we had WET(white entertainment television) we'd be racists.

If we had a White Pride Day you would call us racists.

If we had white history month, we'd be racists.

If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives, we'd be racists.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we'd be racists.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're
not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us.
But when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am white.
I am proud of it.

But don't you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists?

I've got a question....

Alright so to everyone who thinks we were wrong for going into Iraq because we should have only stayed in Afghanistan I have a question. Why was it OK for us to go into Germany when they never attacked us in the 40's but it's not ok for us to help the people of Iraq now? I'm sorry but we are helping them from a dictator who was commiting atrocious crimes. I see no difference.

Conscientious Objectors

As we all know, theres a war going on. It's been goin on for a few years now. So why are people joining the military and then deciding that they are a conscientious objector to the war on terroism? The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal has an article about one such girl. She joined the Texas National Guard in 2002 and is now saying she's an objector. Does anyone else see an issue with this? This is the article:
  • Wisconsin woman seeks objector status
  • . Now she has suddenly decided after being completely ready to go to war and fight for her country that she now doesn't want to? I'm sorry but this is just bull. If you're going to join the military, a service that by name brings images of war, you should be prepared to do your time and the service requested of you. This is the oath that this woman had to take when she joined: I, _________________________________, do solemly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of ___________________________________ against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of ________________________ and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to law and regulations. So help me God. Now this is the oath for the men and women of the national guard, and the words "So help me God" are optional based on religious preferences. However after swearing an oath, shouldn't one be expected to uphold that oath?
We challenge our presidents and other elected officials to uphold any oaths that they make. Why do we not do the same for the members of our armed services? How are the people who have sworn to defend our freedom suddenly able to decided to that they don't want to? I fully believe that these individuals should continue a service that they agreed to. Especially those who have enlisted KNOWING there is a war going on. Now everyone may not agree with me, however think about it....If it weren't for the men and women who fight to defend our country would you be reading this blog right now? Would I even be able to say the things that I have said? Probably not. We need the men and women who swear to uphold our constitution and defend our freedoms to stay commited that promise.

    As to the euthanasia

In regards to my previous post, if you weren't able to tell, I was basically being a smart ass. I fully believe in the death penalty and that Allen was in fact punished for what he had done. However if his lawyers really do want to complain about the fact that he was an old man when he was executed, then why not give them a reason that it really wasn't so cruel and unusual???
Anyways, thank you all for your comments on it. Somehow with this blog I've moved up in the ecosystem to a wiggly worm. Not sure if thats better than being a microscopic multicellular organism though.

    Euthanasia not execution

As we all know California recently executed their oldest death row inmate. Clarence Ray Allen asked for clemency because he believed it cruel and unusual to execute a frail old man. He suffered from diabetes, was nearly blind and deaf, and had suffered a near fatal heart attack in September. So heres my theory...he wasn't executed, he was simply euthanized. If he was that hard off then we simply ended his pain. And we all know that euthanasia isn't considered cruel and unusual if he was really suffering. So therefore it was not an execution! If he was really that frail then we shouldn't have been paying to keep him in jail. Allen was convicted of murder and then hiring a hit man to murder one witness and two bystanders. Simply put it was either put him to death or keep spending federal money on keeping such a frail and suffering man alive. Euthansia isn't an execution, it isn't cruel or unusual, in fact its basically humane.
*Giving credit where credit is due, my mother actually came up with this theory. I just thought I'd share it with you all and embellish on it.*

    Against racism

We all know racism is disgusting, therefore I was very pleased to have found this...
A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man on an airplane. Obviously disturbed by this, she called the air hostess. "Madam, what is the matter," the hostess asked. "You obviously do not see it then?" she responded. "You placed me next to a black man. I do not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat." "Be calm please," the hostess replied. "Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another place is available." The Hostess went away and then came back a few minutes later. "Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in the economy class. I spoke to the captain and he informed me that there is also no seat in the business class. All the same, we still have one place in the first class." Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued, "It is not usual for our company to permit someone from the economy class to sit in the first class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting." The hostess turned to the black man and said "Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in first class." At that moment, the other passengers who were shocked by what they had just witnessed stood up and applauded.

To change the name or not???

Ok so I'm taking a semester off school. Long story, if you really wanna know, you can ask. I'm not sure I'll tell you but you can still try. Anyways, I'm debating about changing the title of my blog since I'm technically not a college student. What do you think?
